Play responsibly: tips and warning signs
Gambling should be fun, and only ever with money you can afford to lose. A few simple habits help keep it that way.
Habits that help
- Decide how much you'll spend before you start, and stop when it's gone.
- Track it in your own currency: turn on Show balances in under Settings → Currency.
- Only deposit what you've set aside to play with. Deposits have to be wagered before they can be withdrawn.
- Set an alarm for when you'll stop, and take regular breaks.
- Don't chase losses. Trying to win money back usually means losing more.
- Don't play when you're upset, stressed, tired or drinking.
- Never borrow to play, or use money meant for bills.
- Look back at what you've deposited in Settings → Transactions.
Signs it might be becoming a problem
- Spending more money or time than you meant to.
- Feeling you have to win back what you've lost.
- Borrowing, or using money meant for something else.
- Hiding how much you play from people close to you.
- Feeling anxious, low or irritable when you can't play.
- Playing to escape problems or to lift your mood.
- Missing work, study, sleep or time with people because of it.
